Every disaster zone / crisis has that one bar where everyone gathers. Where we were staying the restaurant was exceptionally wookiee spy vs. spy — the cast of characters in this sort of situation are far more elegant / crisp and purposeful / tighter than those you might find in a natural disaster response. I have always considered soldiers to be the ultimate humanitarians — willing to place it all on the line for something they believe in — it clearly does something to the bearing and presence of the individual. Nothing like sitting in the restaurant with Ukrainian opera blasting in the background, eating Borsch and playing a mental game of who is who…. Lovely incredible folks at work here.
