Tactivate Wingsuit HALO World Record Attempt for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation
Jimmy Petrolia, retired USAF Pararescueman is going to attempt to break two wingsuit world records on Veterans Day, November 11th, to raise funds and awareness for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF). The SOWF actively seeks out the children of Special Operations Forces that have fallen in the line of duty, and ensures they receive the best education they can get, through funding tutoring for college prep and college tuition.
Jimmy’s passion for wingsuit piloting and, desire to support the SOWF was the impetus behind his decision to challenge the world records. Jimmy reached out to his former teammate, Pararescueman Luigge Romanillo, who is the Director of Operations at Tactivate. The rest was history, as this is precisely the type of venture and motivated individual Tactivate supports.
Tactivate exists to mesh the Special Operations Forces Veteran and entrepreneurial startup communities. At the crossroads of these worlds lies a refreshing breed of brilliant, humble savages. Matthew Griffin of Combat FlipFlops, William McNulty of Team Rubicon Global, Joe Musselman of The Honor Foundation and Jimmy Petrolia are examples of successful and unconventional creatives that have blurred the lines between Veteran Service Organizations and entrepreneurship.
The types of ventures and initiatives these individuals have created, the cultures they have cultivated, and the depth of impact and meaning of their organizations are emblematic of how they are thinking differently about venture design. We look forward to seeing and supporting many more of these hybridized Veteran-centric entrepreneurial initiatives in the near future.
